Pupil Absence and Attendance
Good attendance is essential to ensuring children make good progress at school. It helps children enjoy their learning, establish positive relationships and achieve their potential. We rely on parents to support our drive to improve both attendance and attainment.
Our current Attendance Policy, found below, aims to show our commitment to meeting our obligations with regards to school attendance. We are currently developing an updated Attendance Policy which includes obligations laid out in the Department for Education’s (DfE’s) statutory guidance for September 2024, taken from working together to improve school attendance. More information for parents will follow shortly.
.
Please note, term time holidays are not permitted and will be classed as unauthorised absence.
Parents should report their child's absence by telephone on the morning of that absence. We have an answerphone for out of school hours messages.
